Great Grain Festival The King of the Mount Duathlon takes the shape of a run–cycle–run event over approximately 20kms. It was hotly contested in 2008 at the 'Steaming Up Broadway' festival and is bound to grow in popularity. Organised by the Wycheproof Wanderers Bike Club this event should not be missed. Mountain Horse Racing – Wycheproof style. Special guest: Minister for Community Development Hon Lily D’Ambrosio. Saturday 20 March Kids Fun – trackless train, rock climbing, face painting, craft, tattoos, jumping castle. Farm Fun – Working dog demonstrations, shearing, wool classing, spinning, weaving, rustic pioneer kitchen, grain exhibits, wheat sheaf toss. Market on Broadway - regionally grown and produced foods, craft, home wares and goods. Exhibitions – Willandra Historic Museum, Historic Court House, Patchwork Exhibition, ‘Against the Grain’ children’s photographic exhibition (entry form), Men’s Shed, Steam Engine display. Music on the Mount – Stunning outdoor concert featuring local and emerging artists headlined by Joe Camilleri and the Black Sorrows. Sunday 21 March Lions Club breakfast in the Park Car Boot/Trash and Treasure sale at the park. With an expected attendance in excess of 2000 people, the Wycheproof Great Grain Festival offers an ideal opportunity for regional food producers and tourism operators to showcase their goods and services. Wycheproof, located at the half-way point between Melbourne and Mildura, provides a unique promotional platform and business operators are urged to contact the Resource Centre to discuss how they can utilise the Festival for maximum expose of their business product and services. Funding and support has generously been provided by Regional Development Victoria, Helen Macpherson Smith Community Alliance, Tourism Victoria, Buloke Shire Council and local businesses McLennan’s Electrical, Royal Mail Hotel and Mathiesons Transport to name just a few. A range of tickets are available now with individual events from just $2 through to Festival Passes which include the launch, events, rides, exhibitions and Music on the Mount for $40 for adults and $20 for children.
